The USTA announced today that Atlanta's Donald Young and U.S. Fed Cup team member Alexa Glatch are among the initial list of players invited to compete at its Australian Open wild card playoffs held during the 2009 Infinite Energy Atlanta Challenge at the Racquet Club of the South, a USTA Certified Regional Training Center in Atlanta, December 4-7.

Fedor Emelianenko stopped Brett Rogers in the second round in a Strikeforce M-1 Global heavyweight bout Saturday night in Hoffman Estates, Ill., near Chicago.
Emelianenko (31-1) landed a right hook that sent Rogers (10-1) down to the mat, and Emelianenko followed with exchange of punches to the face of Rogers.
Referee John McCarthy ended the fight at 1:48 in the second round.

Phil Mickelson went from a two-shot deficit against Tiger Woods to a two-shot lead over the final eight holes Saturday in the HSBC Champions golf tournament in Shanghai.
Woods stalled with pars while Mickelson poured in three birdies over his last five holes for a 5-under 67 and a two-shot lead over Woods and Nick Watney in the final World Golf Championship of the year.
"I know we are both looking forward to it," said Mickelson, who was at 14-under 202.
